Nutrition

Count nutrients and not just calories.
To be healthy and lose weight, the human body needs lots of nutrition, not calorie restriction. At EatWell Deli we believe the food and drink we consume deliver ‘messages’ around our bodies. ‘Good messages’ increase health and support fat loss, while ‘bad messages’ do the opposite, causing imbalances, inflammation and fat gain. The messages that you give to your body through your food can have a greater impact upon fat loss than the calories alone. The good news is, foods high in nutrition are often low in calories anyway. In order to stay healthy and to lose weight you need to consume carbohydrates, protein and fats as well as vitamins and minerals. At EatWell Deli we take all of this into account and plan all of our meals to ensure the meals you consume are both healthy and promote weight loss.

Remove toxins from your diet.
Everything in the human body has a purpose and reason for being there, even body fat. Fat cells store ‘fat’ tissue, which is a protective substance. It keeps us warm and stores energy in the unlikely event that we run out of food stores, but perhaps more importantly in this day and age, body fat is there to protect our organs from toxic overload. Processed foods and drinks often contain a cocktail of chemicals. Over time, these toxins build up in our system so to protect itself your body will shunt those toxins straight into your fat cells. Survival takes precedence over your weight loss I’m afraid! At EatWell Deli we use foods that have had little or no processing allowing the reduction of toxins entering into your body from the food you eat and therefore allowing your body to release your fat stores easier.

Balance Your Hormones
Your hormones significantly influence your body fat stores. Hormones are basically messengers within our body.  Just about every physiological process is governed by the action of hormones, including fat storage, appetite and cravings.   The food we eat has a direct effect on our hormones - it can change the amount of each hormone being produced as well changing how their message is delivered. By ensuring that your food has little or no processing you can help create balance within your hormones. It is also important to eat the correct ratio of protein, carbohydrates and fats to remain healthy, promote fat loss and help control your appetite and cravings.
